Livy is 2 months

Little Livy is 2 months old and she has been drastically neglected on this blog. She is such a drastic difference from Mr. E. She is so feminine looking and always smells good. (E came out smelling like a boy and he has always been a dirty little thing).

She is such a stubborn little girl and so strong. She thinks she can stand and already does the back arch. She lifts her head really well and is constantly moving. She has rolled over about 15 times already. I don't mention all these things to say "look how great our kid is", in fact I find all these accomplishments a little disturbing. Blake & I have been praying since before she was born that she would be safe and that we would be able to protect her from our aggressive Mr. E. Maybe this is Heavenly Father's way of protecting her, by making her so strong.

My mom said over Thanksgiving, "Olivia has cured my love of newborns." It sounds harsh coming from the grandma, but she meant that Livy is not your typical newborn. She has to be wrestled to sleep in such a tight hold that you feel like you are hurting her. She is not a snuggler like her brother.

We love our little Livy and her independent spirit. She loves her bath time and her binkie. She loves her brother and smiles for him all the time. E has learned how to be soft with her and is doing pretty well unless she's wearing a bow, then he rips it out of her hair. He even talks to her in a special "soft" voice ( really it is a high pitched voice).

Livy and E are destined to be great friends (maybe E's only friend if we don't get his aggression under control) and we feel blessed to have both of these babies in our home.

  5. She is SO beautiful! She looks just like you. My mantra is "This too shall pass". If it's a bad day (or stage), I try to remember it will pass, but when it's good, I try to soak it up because I know they'll be stinky teenagers one day. Molly and the Complainers or something. Heaven help us!
